Jailhouse Rock Band (#14)

The next movie on our list was Jailhouse Rock with Elvis Presley. Since I knew this was likely to be our only Elvis film, the theme of the night was a combination of Elvis and Rock and Roll. All the food that was served were favorite dishes of Elvis Presley. This website was an invaluable resource for both inspiration and recipes. I decided to use their recipe for fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches and I can tell you right now that they were amazing. I fully understand why it was Elvis' favorite meal.

In addition to Elvis food, I really wanted to capture the vibe of Rock and Roll, so I decided to open my home an hour earlier than usually and have some pre-dinner fun and entertainment. I set up the video game Rock Band and let my guest take turn singing and jamming out to their favorite Rock and Roll hits. If you take a look at the picture above, you may not have noticed it at first, but I made some edits to it just for the party. The microphones and guitar are from the Rock Band game and are not featured in this scene.
